Sectors

Lifelong Learning Sector

Lifelong LearningSkyblue has undertaken a major review of the Learning and Development Standards for the lifelong learning sector during 2009 and 2010. The project has involved occupational and functional mapping; market definition; standards review through over 20 consultation events in the UK; and standards writing as necessary to reflect current and future practice. The revised standards are to be submitted to the UK Commission for Employment and Skills in 2010. Following this successful project, Skyblue has been asked to conduct a research project examining the impact of all standards and qualifications introduced by LLUK since 2007.

Nuclear

NuclearThe twin aims of decommissioning and nuclear new build means that the industry requires an array of skills and knowledge to ensure safety and innovation at all times. We work with nuclear companies and organisations responsible for ensuring the workforce is as skilled as possible now and in future.

Sport and active leisure

GrassWe focus on projects aimed at improving the skills of the sport and active leisure workforce, ultimately increasing the opportunities for more young people and adults to participate in active and healthy lifestyles.

Hospitality, Leisure, Travel and Tourism

We focus on projects aimed at improving the overall quality of experience for tourists to a visitor destination by looking at ways of increasing the levels of service offered by the wider tourism workforce in the UK. There are many opportunities for this country to ‘raise the bar’ and achieve gold levels of customer service particularly in light of the fact we will be hosting the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and welcome visitors from all across the globe.
